The Digital Product Dilemma

I’m over at B&N again and skim through a few books on online businesses. Many tips to making money online is so similar…it goes along the line of:

1. Find a niche.
2. Make a website.
3. Sell an info product such as an ebook.

It sounds simple but I have my qualms about the info ebook business. Here are some of my thoughts on them.

Thought #1: Selling Digital Goods
I’m not a big fan of digital goods such as ebooks because they’re not physical but because of new technology such as Kindle, iPad, and nook, it makes them much more valuable.

Thought #2: Finding the Right Niche to Create the Product
I always have difficulty trying to find the right niche and then I feel like it’s a wasted effort if I don’t get anything done. The biggest concern is trying to find the right customer who wants the product and is willing to accept it digitally.

We’re still in the “Book Age.”

Thought #3: I Want Physical Capital
It’s naive and egotistical but I want something that is hands on, that I can show to the world. Digital products are useless when it comes to showing off.

Thought #4: Why Can’t I Come Up With an Idea?
I have ideas but I keep looking for the easiest way to make money. I’m trying to think of things that I would enjoy doing to include it into my business but the thought of making profit is overwhelming!

How to REALLY Market Using Facebook

First create a buzz with your own Facebook by taking a picture of you and your product and setting it as your profile picture.

Once people start commenting on it, contact the one’s who were interested and give them the product for free! In exchange, ask them to take a picture with their “sexiest pose” with the product and have them set it as their profile picture. If anyone commenting on their picture is interested, have your friend direct them to you!

Chain effect! The awesomeness of social media :)

Baby Steps to Financial Freedom

I can’t do anything at home. I go to Barnes & Nobles for motivations and their magazines.

I keep skimming them until I get ideas…some of the things I begin to write in my iPhone Notes:

Thought #1: How Consumers (I) Think
Why buy should I buy anything? Just the temptation and my impulse to want everything drives me to consume! We all have a minor form of ADD (ADHD) and we are attracted to pretty things hence the advertisements with imagery of people having a good time using the product. We’re buying our happiness.

How can we instill happiness in the product?

How can I make people invest in a product? The more invested they are, the more willing they are to invest in an actual product.

Thought #2: Buyer’s Remorse
Why return the product? Friends and family has influence.

Make product lovable by all and have it add value to everyone.

Thought #3: Type of Product
Physical product: Hands on makes the product able to be touched and moved around which involves investment in the product.

Digital product: is for impulse and instant gratification. Higher buyer’s remorse.

Thought #4: What is the Product?
A service? A physical good? What can I bring to the table. What makes people need the service and what makes the product necessary? How can I make it unique and stand out from the norm?
